What Happened?

What happened to Smiling?
The contagious curves we often underestimate the power of. That curve capable of lightening up a person’s soul without a sound from the mouth.
What happened to Respect?
It doesn’t cost to give some esteem and its worth so much when it’s received.
Yet it seems it’s only given if you’re on the same team.
What happened to Gratitude?
Be thankful for the little, to gain the Lot.
Show gratefulness for what you’ve got, instead of complaining what you have not.
What happened to Happiness?
Stop comparing to the past, future or non existent.
Make that transition, if not learn to accept.
We have a choice we can make to be in this mental state. Look at your life and appreciate.
What happened to Men?
The word hypocrite comes to mind. Want a real women yet it seems the only aim is to get inside.
So focused on the physical, the mental, emotional and spiritual are neglected,
without these it’s impossible to be connected.
What happened to Women?
Using our power in all the wrong places for all the wrong reasons. Moods changing depending on the seasons.
Belittling, bitching we need to embrace each other.
What happened to Love?
But what is the meaning? So many definitions but we know the feeling.
An emotion I can’t understand why nobody wouldn’t want to have.
Don’t hide the effection it will drive you insane.
Let’s make it all of this Happen again.

I had a Brain wave so decided to write a poem, release somd frustration and spread the knowledge.... 1st time poem....Read and Enjoy

Delusion, confusion
Not seeing things for what they really are...An Illusion?
A history that we are struggling to find not because it’s lost
But hidden because of what its worth and what it will cost
Everyman deserves to know there history what ever their race
But why must ours be some kind of chase
Mother tongue alienated, constantly discriminated.
Hated, unrated and still we are chasin’
They don’t wanna tell us nothin’ but constantly try to dismiss
About that was then, get over it, that just takes the piss.
A history of royalty and not just of slavery
300 years of torment and still we are strong I call that Bravery
Sick of this shit, Expose and they will deny
Or they will try and tell u half the truth which we all know is a lie.
We are the original, FACTS do not lie, so please please please stop trying to deny
It doesn’t make us better , No way... but rather
Starting humanity does make us your mother and your father.
'And you should honour your mother and father’
All I see is negativity
Itv and BBC
Showing all just poverty
But that’s not all its meant to be.
Where’s the positivity?
A wise guy once told me its not called tel ‘LIE’ vision for no reason.
Come on people wake up and give yourself a pinch.
Educate your self, read, google the likes of Willie lynch.
Research Egypt, Look up what we created,
Everything isn’t always how it is stated.
I for one was sick of not knowing.
If u don’t know where you’ve been how can you be sure of where your going.
There’s more to our history than what they teach us at school
Dont let them trick you and be taken for a fool
MLK and Malcom X were not the only Black figures of our history
U need to look up what seems to be a mystery.
Bessie Coleman, Marcus Garvey,Frederick Douglas, Rosa Parks..Many more to name
If you don’t know Read a book don’t feel no shame.
Recognise, realise, don’t be fooled by all the lies.
There more to see, there’s more to find, but its up to you to decide
Educate, tell ur mate, pass it on duplicate
Spread the word, tell your friend, Motherland is where is started and where it will end.

DONT LEAVE IT DOWN TO ONE MONTH TO RECOGNISE YOUR BLACK CULTURE!!!

Response to ' One Love, Two Colours'

['One Love, Two Colours'... The unlikely marraige of a Punk Rocker and his African Queen.]
I actually came across this book by accident, But im so glad i did, as it has been one of the most, honest, Personal, unique, books i have read. The couple let us into the in's and out's of there 10year marraige. Not only does this book discuss in depth the 'realities of an interacial relaionship' It highlights many cultural issues which are of importance within society. The book is both sad at times, but interestingly funny at most, as the couple discuss there 'One Love, Two Colours'...
Not only is the Book is broken down into sections discussing in details every aspect of there relationship from First impressions, to intimacy, to food, finance, religion and much more, The book is structured with each chapter having two authors. Bobby's side (English punk rocker) and Margrets side (African queen). This is something which is constant throughout and never seems to get boring as it is interesting to hear about a subject from both sides.
While reading the book i found that i was more interested in reading Margarets sections of the book. Reason being is because me and her genuinely had more in common than me and Bobby!
Although me and Bobby lacked things in common, I must say he is a very funny guy and often had me in stitches which is somewhat sarcastic veiws.
We almost live a reenactment of Bobby and Margrets relationship and how they conquer prejudice, intolerance and hate.
Overall this book please me, it managed to mix serious issues with humour, however still openining eyes to the realities and the complexity of interacial love. This book did not dissapoint me, it is a honest heart warming story from a dual perspective.
8/10
